#GOAT TO WORK 2026

Baek Saheon Appreciation Week : May 12th to May 18th. GoatToWork is a fanweek celebrating the character Baek Saheon from the webnovel "Even if I Fall into a Ghost Story I Still Have to Go to Work" by Baek Deoksoo.

GENERAL RULES

  EVENT DURATION  

  • Prompt Days : 5/12 - 5/18

  • Grace Period : 5/19 - 5/31

  • Submissions will be promoted starting on their respective prompts days.

  • Any submissions that didn't make it for the prompt days will be promoted during the grace period up until 11:59PM UTC-12.

  GUIDELINES  

  • Works must follow the event prompts.

  • All types of submissions are allowed, including fics, threadfics, art, playlists, cosplay, meta, etc.

  • CP/NCP/Ships are welcome as long as they are properly tagged. Do NOT post any content bashing other characters or ships.

  • Content that contains triggering content, explicit NSFW and/or DDDNE work (death, sexual themes, etc.) MUST be properly tagged and/or shared through previews or walls (such as Privatter or Poipiku).

  • Plagiarising, tracing, and stealing are strictly prohibited. If you want to make fanwork that uses other people's fanwork (such as edits) you must get permission from that person.

  • NO AI-generated content will be allowed for this event.

  • Any work that advocates for discrimination, harassment, or any other form of hatred is strictly prohibited.

  •   What is GoatToWork?  

GoatToWork is a week-long celebration (May 12th to May 18th) of Baek Saheon's birthday. Each day follows a set of themed prompts. Submissions may take many forms : memes, fics, art, playlists, cosplay, and more, provided they are tagged with the correct prompts and any necessary content warnings.

  •   What can I submit?  

Accepted formats include but are not limited to : fics, threadfics, art, playlists, cosplay, edits, and meta. Ships are welcome as long as they are properly tagged. Crossovers and OCs are also allowed as long as GSGW's Baek Saheon remains the central focus. If you're uncertain about your submission, feel free to reach out to us. (See bottom for contact info)

  •   Where can I see the submissions?  

At our twitter, Tumblr, and AO3 collection. We will also keep a notion archive of all of the submissions updated.

  •   Are edits allowed?  

Yes, but if your edit includes other people's fanwork, you must first get the creators' permission.

  •   Is NSFW/sensitive content allowed?  

Yes. However, such content MUST be properly tagged and/or shared through previews or walls (such as Privatter or Poipiku). Works not properly tagged may not be promoted or engaged with.

Yes. Each day offers a paired set of prompts to guide submissions.

You are free to do either one or both prompts. You can also combine the two prompts (or example, create artwork that includes both apple & emerald).

  •   Are early submissions allowed?  

Please don't submit before the day, as we will only start promoting the posts on the day.

  •   Can you just do one day / a few days?  

You are definitely allowed to participate in only one day. Participants can choose to participate in one day, a few, or all; as long as the submissions meet the event guidelines, they will all be promoted on the respective social media or AO3 collection

  •   Can we publicly post WIPs before submission?

  Apple     Emerald  

Apple, the fruit of Saheon's birth flower.
Emerald, Saheon's birth stone.
This is a birthday prompt, but feel free to interpret it however you wish—symbolically, literally, or otherwise. For example, 'Emerald' could refer to the gem, or even the color of Saheon's eye.

  DAY 02   2026/05/13

  Jisan     Sekwang  

Jisan, the village where Saheon was raised, and sought to escape.
Sekwang, the city which Saheon has been semi-voluntarily entering for the sake of his own goals.
The places that Saheon returned to, repeatedly. One against his own will, and the other, of his own volition. His past, and his present.
Which one will you choose? Or will you portray both? Be as ambitious as you want.

  Viper     Goat  

Two animal symbolism for our Saheon.
Will you choose the deadly snake, or the farm animal?
If you'd like to do both, you could apply them all to our Saheon, or to the version of Saheon in DER. Or you could interpret Viper as Saheon in DER and Goat as our own Saheon. What will you choose?

  Daydream     Bureau  

Daydream is where Saheon works, of course.
Bureau are those who failed to save Saheon—but did they fail, in the end…?
As always, you are free to interpret the prompts however they want. Would you like to explore Saheon's canonical relationship with the organizations? What about a what-if scenario—in another world, could things have turned out differently? It's your choice.

  Item     Contamination  

The two facets of his dealings with darknesses.
Saheon has many items—his purple eyeball, the mind control pen, the three-colored pen, the paper boat…
Meanwhile, he's rarely suffered from contamination—the only notable instance was the aftermath of Braun's 'push' in Chapter 121.
Perhaps you'd like to focus on one of his items? Perhaps you'd like to focus on his canon contamination, or explore wider possibilities? We're excited to see what you'll do.

  Survival     Fulfillment  

If one word can define Saheon, it will be 'survivor'. To survive is the absolute goal in Saheon's life, something that he will persue with single minded determination.
Fulfillment is something that unexpectedly fell into his life—when in Jisan, he saved the life of the agent. That feeling you get when you succeed on doing a good deed—the sense of fulfillment.
Survival is what he needs.
Fulfillment may be what he wants.
